P.E. was founded in 1820 by Sir Rufane Shaw Donkin (governor of the Cape Colony at the time) and named after his late wife -Elizabeth.

Also known as the “Windy City” and “Madiba Bay”. This is a city with rich cultural heritage and very friendly people. PE is known as the water sports capital of S.A. and boasts an ever increasing number of water sport events annually.
