BLOEMFONTEIN

Bloemfontein was founded by the British in 1846.  It’s the capital city of the Free State region. The word “Bloemfontein” literally means a fountain of flowers. The city hosts thousands of rose bushes.

It also has a Sotho (tribal) name Manguang meaning “home of the Cheetah”.

A Victorian setting filled with rich culture and history makes it a beautiful city with beautiful people.
